Each data line is a row. name and active are columns.
Query to read, not to run here:
SELECT name FROM members WHERE active = 1;
Rows whose active value is 1: ada and cy.
bo has active 0, so the predicate leaves bo out.
Row order is not part of this check. SELECT does not change the table.
Apply the condition independently to every row in a new table.
